2027 Grant Program Application
The Mission of the Memorial Foundation for Children is to provide funds that support nonprofit organizations and their programs that focus on improving the lives of children from asset-limited households and under-resourced communities in the Richmond Metropolitan Area. Please carefully review all our grant guidelines and the Frequently Asked Questions to determine your organization’s eligibility to apply.
To better partner with our community partners, the Memorial Foundation for Children has enhanced its grant program
by offering:
Two types of grant funding for 2027 to eligible organizations.
General Grants
The Foundation makes one-year grants for specific programs or projects which may include operating expenses. Funds should be spent within the period of 12 months following July 1. Organizations are eligible for General Grant funding every other year. Please read our eligibility guidelines.
Multi-Year Grants
Multi-Year grants of up to $100,000 will be distributed over a two-year period and will be awarded to up to two organizations per year. These larger grants are designed to allow us to better partner with our grantees above and beyond our general grants for special strategic initiatives, new programs, and enhancements to existing programs. These grants are to be used to support programs that have been vetted with measurable objectives, ideally reflected in the organization’s strategic plan or initiatives.
Only organizations that have received at least two grants within the past six (6) years from the Memorial Foundation for Children are eligible to apply for a Multi-Year Grant. Funding priorities of Education and Health and Wellness, eligibility requirements, and restrictions are the same as for General Grants.
Recipients of Multi-Year Grants are eligible to apply for multi-year grant funding two years following the last Multi-Year Grant payment.
